RISE

Whatever somebody else says, does or thinks has nothing to do with you, that’s entirely on them. The truth is, we often react without even thinking when we feel attacked. When you can really understand that reacting is giving away your power, and responding is empowering yourself, you are being mindful. You pay close attention to what triggers you, take notice of your loss of control, the reaction and the emotion in the situation….Simply noticing without overthinking!!!! Our interactions allow us to learn… to grow… to listen.

One important way to enable mindfulness when you feel challenged or triggered is to focus on your breathing. Breath awareness brings the body to a steady state of calm and improves concentration. Additionally, the release of tension allows you to respond more thoughtfully and avoid unproductive arguments and possibly engage in strong, mature, conversations instead. You never know!!!
